UK follows European example in introducing travel ban for violent Israeli settlers
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron announced on December 14 that Jewish settlers conducting violent acts against Palestinians would be banned from entering Britain, following the example of the European Union.
As reported by the Times of Israel, the minister stated this on his official X account, posting “Extremist settlers, by targeting and killing Palestinian civilians, are undermining security and stability for both Israelis and Palestinians”.
“Israel must take stronger action to stop settler violence and hold the perpetrators accountable. We are banning those responsible for settler violence from entering the UK to make sure our country cannot be a home for people who commit these intimidating acts", Cameron urged.
UN figures have recorded daily settler attacks in the Israeli-occupied West Bank having more than doubled since the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas’s deadly October 7 attack on Israel from Gaza, according to TVP World.
Earlier this week, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell first brought up this issue, informing the public that he would propose sanctions against Jewish settlers responsible for violence against Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, though not specifying exactly what those entail.
