Ukraine’s Prosecutor General files charges against NABU chief

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has filed charges against Semen Kryvonos, director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

Kravchenko announced the move in a video address posted on his Telegram channel, saying: “I have signed the charges against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos.”

The prosecutor general previously submitted his resignation amid a new investigation by Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies. However, parliament has yet to consider his resignation.

Kravchenko also called on Kryvonos and Oleksandr Klymenko, head of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), to step down.

“I advise Semen Kryvonos and Oleksandr Klymenko to resign today,” Kravchenko said.

He accompanied his video with the caption: “I should have done this a long time ago.”
