US Navy ship shoots down drone from Yemen in Red Sea

A US Navy warship shot down a drone in the Red Sea that emanated from Yemen.

As reported by Reuters, this information was shared with the publication by two officials on November 15, in what appeared to be only the second time the United States has brought down projectiles near its warships since the Israel-Hamas conflict began.

Washington is on heightened alert for activity by Iran-backed groups as regional tensions soar during the Israel-Hamas conflict and has been trying to ensure that it does not spread in the region.

Last month, another American warship intercepted four cruise missiles and 15 drones launched by the Iran-aligned Houthi movement from Yemen towards Israel.
