“If Armenia once again strikes pose, Azerbaijan to continue taking actions”
Azerbaijani political analyst’s opinion

Azerbaijani political analyst, Head of the Centre for Studies of the South Caucasus Farhad Mammadov has commented on the results of the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Prague in his Telegram channel.
“So, the Prague meeting will be remembered for the statement in which for the first time Azerbaijan and Armenia mention the mutual recognition of each other's territorial integrity.
The key points are as follows:
- Despite all attempts of Armenia, the US, and France, Azerbaijan does not agree to mention Karabakh in the negotiations and in the final document - a peace treaty.
- Azerbaijan did not agree to the deployment of the EU mission on its territory but did not refuse cooperation.
- The EU mission is something new. I don't remember any analogues. The idea with the OSCE and the UN turned out to be unviable - on both platforms. There is a possibility of a veto by Russia.
- The EU mission’s lifespan is limited to two months, by the end of the year, when we are going to sign a peace treaty. If Armenia once again takes a pose and derails the process, Azerbaijan will continue making unilateral actions.
- and one more point, which is indirectly related to the meeting in Prague, namely, the proposal from the so-called President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan to Armenian businessman Ruben Vardanyan to take the post and there is no response to this proposal yet. Vardanyan is still thinking. It seems that the new situation with the possible signing of a peace treaty is forcing Vardanyan's curators (for the time being I can't presume to say which centre - Moscow, Washington or Ankara) to think about the expediency of this project. Vardanyan’s views are also subjective, and he must understand that the prospects are disappearing. We will see,” Mammadov wrote.
