Envoy: Hungary seeks new ideas for economic co-op with Azerbaijan

Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan Tamas Torma has said that Hungary plans to promote new ideas for economic cooperation with Azerbaijan.

“The 8th meeting of the bilateral commission on economic cooperation was held in February this year, and the main priorities and tasks were determined. But we certainly plan to promote new ideas as well. We can build on existing or previous cooperation, such as between [Azerbaijani water supplier] Azersu and Hungarian water companies,” Trend quotes the ambassador as saying.

Torma noted that there are also ongoing projects that need to be completed, such as the construction of a greenhouse complex in Azerbaijan’s Khizi District.

"We usually target joint projects that bring mutual benefits, and we mainly focus on areas such as smart and green city solutions, energy efficiency and water management, where Hungarian companies offer innovative technologies and know-how that we are ready to share. There are many other areas, such as the development of agriculture or energy, where the potential for further cooperation is high, especially given recent geopolitical developments," he added.
