Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry summons Dutch ambassador

Ambassador of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Pauline Eizema was invited to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on November 25.

Dissatisfaction with the letter of Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra, sent on November 23 to the Dutch parliament, was expressed at the meeting, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Report.

The letter contains information about the alleged war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed that the Armenian Armed Forces not only committed unprecedented massacres against Azerbaijani servicemen and civilians since the first Karabakh war, moreover, 613 civilians were brutally killed in Khojaly city during one night on February 26, 1992. The fate of about 4,000 Azerbaijanis is still unknown.

According to the message, Armenia committed crimes against humanity by launching missiles at civilians of the Azerbaijani Ganja, Barda and Mingachevir cities in October 2020.

The mine threat is still posing a big threat to the lives of people in the region. Some 268 Azerbaijani citizens, most of whom are civilians, have been mine victims since the end of the second Karabakh war in 2020, the message said.

Armenia continues committing war crimes against Azerbaijanis. The production of mines in Armenia in 2021 revealed on the Azerbaijani territory testifies to this, the message said.

According to the message, the Armenian government has not yet taken any practical measures to prevent the committed war crimes or to hold the offenders accountable.

Azerbaijan as opposed to Armenia takes its international obligations seriously. The reports about crimes committed during military operations are investigated by the corresponding state agencies, the message said.
