Recently, French city of Valence mayor Nicolas Daragon made another batch of anti-Azerbaijani statements, publicly supporting Armenian separatism in Karabakh.

“We will continue to support Artsakh and the Armenian people and will make every effort to prevent a repetition of the events of 1915 in Artsakh,” Daragon said.

In the meantime, in 2021, this same Daragon demanded the resignation of the municipal councilor, Yasin Yildirim, because he liked a social media post that denied the “Armenian genocide”.

In the light of Daragon's provocative statements, Caliber.Az contacted Yasin Yildirim to find out the reason for Nicolas Daragon's "quivering love" for Armenians in general, and for Armenian separatism, in particular.

We present to our readers an interview with Yasin Yildirim.

    - As far as we know, in 2021, you worked in the municipality of Valence. However, the mayor of the city, Nicolas Daragon, demanded your resignation. Why did you not please the mayor? Is it really just one like under a post about denying the myth of the “Armenian genocide”?

    - Actually, Daragon treated me well. Moreover, it was he, who wanted to see me in his team during that pre-election period. However, the Armenian fanatics - I will call them that - who, having seen me in this team, immediately studied my past, my Facebook page and demanded my resignation even before the first meeting.

So, they no longer do with anyone, except the Turks. It does not matter what generation you are a Frenchman - the second or third, if you are a Turk by origin, then this is enough. You must think the way they want, that is, you must immediately recognize the so-called "Armenian genocide", and since I am a Turk, they tried to impose on me that every year on April 24, I openly express pro-Armenian opinion.

My resignation was forced on Daragon by the Armenian diaspora. He knew very well that I was right, but still he asked me to resign because he was afraid of the Armenian lobby. During a personal meeting, he told me: “Yes, I know that you are right, I read and analyzed everything until morning. Look, France considers ASALA a terrorist organization, but this is Valence and all my voters are of Armenian origin, so I can't force them to say that here.

I answered that if the terrorist is a Muslim, then we can talk about it, but if a terrorist is an Armenian, then all kinds of prohibitions immediately come into force, because, they say, some do not like it...

    - But did the European Court of Human Rights not decide on a lawsuit of Dogu Perincek that the denial of the fictitious "Armenian genocide" is not a crime? On what grounds, were you fired?

    - Daragon is well aware that he was wrong and that my dismissal for such a reason was unfair, but as I said, he obeyed those who ordered him... He even used someone as an intermediary and gave me the following message: “I did not want to, but they forced me, and at that time, there were municipal elections, if I do not do what they want, then they will destroy me in the elections.”

    - Nicolas Daragon is known for his ardent pro-Armenian position. Why does he support Armenians so strongly? Is he financially dependent on Armenians?

    - Yes, it is, he is an ardent supporter of the Armenians. It is just that there are a lot of them in our region, and they all vote, so they do what they want, but we, Muslims, do not vote in elections and then regret it.

Daragon is connected with the Armenians not materially, but rather spiritually. I can’t help but mention that he is a homosexual, but the fact that he talks so much about them and defends them, given the homophobia in Armenia, suggests that the Armenians have some kind of secret documents or records against Daragon, that is, compromising evidence.

    - Is it easy for a Turk or an Azerbaijani to get employed in a civil service in France?

    - It is very difficult for a Turk to get employed in a civil service, and it is doubly more difficult for an Azerbaijani.

    - How strong are the positions of Armenians in French society?

    - Actually, Armenians are not strong at all, they just appeared in France much earlier than us, they are united, and we are divided, that is, our shortcomings make them strong.

    - How can Azerbaijanis and Turks in France convey their voice to the authorities and society?

    - First of all, our states (Turkey and Azerbaijan) must take care of us, must constantly show the French authorities that we are not alone in the host country. They must expose the false stories of genocides so that no one else falls victim to them.
