Azerbaijani, New Caledonian parliaments sign memorandum of cooperation

The Azerbaijani and New Caledonian parliaments have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The document was signed following a meeting between Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova and President of the New Caledonian Congress Roch Wamytan in the Azerbaijani parliament, Report informs.
According to the memorandum, the Azerbaijani parliament takes into account the right of the people of New Caledonia to self-determination and will inform the international community about this issue.
The Azerbaijani parliament and the Congress of New Caledonia will develop inter-parliamentary cooperation to strengthen friendly relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and New Caledonia.
Moreover, the document envisages the establishment of permanent relations between commissions and committees of legislative bodies, and mutual visits of delegations consisting of MPs.
The sides intend to create parliamentary groups to develop interparliamentary relations.
