Poland sends security team to Paris Olympics 40 officers and 12 dogs

Poland has sent 40 police officers and 12 cynologists to Paris to ensure security during the Olympic Games.

"Forty officers have been seconded to serve in joint patrols with French police officers, including 28 police officers from prevention units and 12 guides and service dogs designed to search for explosives," the Polish police said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The 2024 Summer Olympics are held in the French capital from 26 July to 11 August. The opening ceremony of the Games was held on 26 July.

The ceremony was attended by 10,500 athletes from 206 countries. About 300,000 spectators were watching the opening ceremony. In addition, the event is broadcast on huge screens for residents and guests of the city.

The Paris Olympics sees the return of sports such as baseball/softball and karate, which were introduced in Tokyo 2020. New additions include skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, and breaking (breakdancing), reflecting a trend towards youth-oriented and urban sports.
