Cernobbio Forum: President Aliyev to discuss Azerbaijan's place in global geopolitics
Today, on September 6, during his working visit to Italy, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will participate in the prestigious International Forum "Intelligence on the World, Europe, and Italy," held in Cernobbio.
Organized by the renowned think tank "European House – Ambrosetti," the forum provides a platform for discussing critical global issues, Caliber.Az reports.
President Aliyev will address the forum on Azerbaijan's role in shaping the new geopolitical landscape. He will be among prominent speakers, including Italian President Sergio Mattarella (via video link), Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (via video link), Queen Rania of Jordan, and Josep Borrell, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
This is not the first time President Aliyev has attended the Cernobbio Forum. In 2022, he was a keynote speaker, where he addressed energy security, Azerbaijan's pivotal role in supplying natural gas to Europe, and the significance of investing in renewable energy. He also underscored the importance of Azerbaijan's strategic partnership with the European Union, particularly in relation to energy projects like the Southern Gas Corridor.
The Cernobbio Forum, which began in 1975, has long been a premier platform for discussing major global and European challenges. It brings together heads of state, government officials, leading economists, business leaders, and intellectuals to exchange ideas and propose solutions to pressing global issues, including geopolitics, economics, innovation, and sustainable development.
