Blow on mythology

A book was published in Munich in German that promises to deal a serious blow to the recurrent Armenian chauvinism that made it a rule to falsify historical facts and appropriate the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. The author of "History and development path of the cultural capital of Azerbaijan", literary critic and historian Michael Reinhard Hess, a researcher at the University of Giessen in Germany, set a goal to hit the hydra of Armenian propaganda in the heart, namely to debunk false myths about "Armenian history" of Shusha.
As is well known, Yerevan hoaxers and their foreign fellows have the nerve to consider Shusha a certain "sacred city" of Armenians, while in reality, the Armenians appeared in Karabakh only yesterday, by historical standards and thanks to a happy set of circumstances. It is not surprising that as soon as the news about the publication of the book appeared on the web, representatives of the Armenian lobby became more active with the task of maximally trolling and poking the work of the German scientist.
It is quite understandable why the Armenian lobby got so worked up since the author of the book is not just a blogger or a lover of Azerbaijani history and culture, but a serious scientist who has systematized a huge archive of data that can refute many "Armenian tales". Michael Reinhard Hess is a Turkologist who dedicated his dissertation to the work of the great Azerbaijani poet Imadeddin Nasimi. And from that time his detailed acquaintance with Azerbaijani traditions and culture began.
Actually, Armenians have many reasons to dislike the German scientist - he is a great blow to their hurt self-esteem. In 2016, after the April fighting, his book about the history of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, "Tanks in Paradise," was published in German. And in August 2020, "Karabakh from the 13th century to 1920. The beginning of the history of Azerbaijan", which was completed in 2021 with the 3rd supplemented and updated edition, devoted to the results of the 44-day war.
According to the German scientist, he was inspired to write about the history of Shusha by the remarkable fact that so many poets, writers, musicologists, composers and other creative people were born in this region. Michael Hess had already been to Shusha several times. And according to his conclusions 95 poets and writers, 38 khanendes (mugham singers), 22 musicians and 19 calligraphers lived and worked in Karabakh at the end of the 19th century who had no connection with the Armenian culture at all.
The European scholar drew even more frightening conclusions about the total fake Armenian history on the basis of all the collected information. Thus, according to his work, Shusha and Karabakh, in general, are native Azerbaijani territories both from the point of view of international law and due to the centuries-old contribution of Karabakh poets, writers, and musicians to the national culture and art.
Of course, such a work is more than ominous for Armenian fake news outlets - because such conclusions are made not by anyone, but by a venerable European scientist living in the very enlightened Europe, on which Yerevan so often relies. What can be done against such ironclad facts?
According to the scientist, during 28 years and 6 months of occupation of Shusha many incredible, absurd attempts were made to erase and distort this heritage, to tear it away from the Azerbaijani people. The book presents scientific evidence of the futility of the occupiers' ridiculous attempts to erase, distort and deny this heritage and thus fabricate a picture of the history of Shusha and Karabakh. The publication also substantiates the fact that the word "Shusha" has no known etymology in the Armenian language. Moreover, the Christian melikdoms (feudal possessions) of Karabakh, according to the scholar, also have no relation to Armenians.
"At the same time, it is impossible not to link the history of Shusha with its new life - its return to Azerbaijan", says Hess. It was not by chance that the author chose a quote from President Ilham Aliyev's address to the nation on November 8, 2020, as an epigraph to the book: "Dear Shusha, you are free"...
Meanwhile, it is difficult not to return to what was mentioned at the beginning, namely the network attacks of the Armenian lobby on the author which have already begun. The pro-Armenian European blogger Sascha Düerkop has also engaged in hating on the book, accompanying the scientist's interview with a disgusting commentary on the book's release. However, if we look into it, it turns out that this network troll has been engaged in stream-hating many events related to Azerbaijan, and, undoubtedly, he is a "regular" employee of the Armenian lobby abroad. However, why is it surprising? Perhaps, on the contrary, such a serious activation of the Armenian propaganda machine shows only what a potential threat to the mythology of Armenians the new work of the German scientist carries.
