Azerbaijan takes part in US international conference

The Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy took part in the international conference on the occasion of the Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, held in the US New York City on June 27, 2022.

The event was held at the UN Headquarters co-organised by the International Council for Small Business, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and other organisations, Report informs citing the agency.

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orkhan Mammadov noted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) contribute to employment, economic growth and sustainable development in Azerbaijan, stressing that 99 per cent of entrepreneurs working in SMEs.

He informed about the activity of the agency, measures which are taken to support SMEs in the country and tools for their support.

During the visit, representatives of the agency visited the Turkish House in New York. The views on the opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkish businessmen working in the US were exchanged at a meeting with Consul General at Consulate General of Türkiye in New York Reyhan Ozgur.
