Azerbaijan, Armenia yet to discuss issue of restoring gas pipelines
Armenia and Azerbaijan have not discussed the issue of restoration of gas pipelines yet, according to Armenia's Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
The ministry's press service made the remarks in response to a request from Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
In October 2023, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hakob Vardanyan said Armenia is ready to restore gas pipelines from Azerbaijan if political issues are resolved.
The ministry said in a statement that the gas transportation systems of Armenia and Azerbaijan were connected through the following main gas pipelines:
Gazakh-Yerevan, 1000 mm diameter, 6 km are subject to restoration;
Sharur-Yerevan, 700 mm diameter, 22 km are subject to restoration;
Gorus-Nakhchivan, 700 mm diameter, 16.5 km are subject to restoration.
"We inform that there were no discussions with the Azerbaijani side on this part," the ministry noted.
As for the cost of restoration of the mentioned sections, it has not been discussed yet.
