Türkiye to unveil "drone-hunting drones" capable of taking off from moving armoured vehicles PHOTO
In 2025, Türkiye will introduce new domestically developed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), equipped with advanced technologies.
Burak Mercan, CEO of Altınay Savunma Teknolojileri explained that his company began working on the development of innovative products and technologies for UAVs back in 2011, alongside efforts in the field of intelligent battery systems, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Mercan stated that Altınay Savunma Teknolojileri is currently developing a system aimed at countering drones, known as the "drone-hunting drone" (FALCON-DAD). This system can classify approaching drones using radar infrastructure and prevent potential attacks or threats with various types of aircraft.
"We aim to complete the development of drones for 'hunting drones' that can land and take off from armoured vehicles while they are in motion, and include them in our inventory by the first quarter of 2025," said the CEO.
He also mentioned that Altınay Savunma Teknolojileri had acquired DASAL, an aviation technology manufacturing company. Since its establishment, DASAL has introduced a wide range of products, from micro-class UAVs to heavy-class aircraft. Currently, six major projects are underway, in addition to those already completed.
Mercan revealed that the preliminary acceptance of the PUHU 75 cargo UAV, with a payload capacity of 75 kilograms, has been completed. The development project for the micro-class UAV MIKON (PEREGRINE), which can carry explosives, has recently been finished, and the UAV is now in serial production.
"This product is in high demand in the markets of the Middle East, Asia, and South America," he said.
