Two US soldiers injured in Georgia during NATO drills
Two American servicemen were injured during military exercises in Georgia and have been hospitalised, the Georgian Ministry of Defence has confirmed, according to Georgian media.
The incident occurred at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JTEC), situated in Krtsanisi, on August 1.
Preliminary reports indicate that the injuries were sustained when the military vehicle they were in overturned.
The injured soldiers were transported to the Mediclub clinic in Tbilisi. Medical staff at the clinic stated that the servicemen did not suffer serious injuries and that their lives are not at risk.
The soldiers were participating in the Agile Spirit multinational military exercises currently underway at the Krtsanisi training ground.
The drills involve Georgian and US troops alongside personnel from nine other NATO member and partner nations.
The objective of Agile Spirit is to enhance combat readiness, operational coordination, and interoperability among the armed forces of the participating countries.
