Russia strikes Kyiv with new Iskander-1000 missile, Ukraine says

Russian forces have expanded their missile arsenal and begun using modified, longer-range weapons against Ukrainian cities, according to Ukrainian media reports cited by Caliber.Az.

During one of the combined strikes on Kyiv, Russia reportedly used upgraded 9M723-2 ballistic missiles for the first time. The missiles are also known as the Iskander-1000.

Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence, part of the Ministry of Defence, said the munitions are integrated into Russia’s latest missile system, known as the Bora-M.

The reported use of the missiles would mark a new development in Russia’s ongoing campaign of strikes against Ukrainian cities.
