Türkiye receives no official US requests on Syria
Türkiye’s Defence Ministry has stated that it had received no official requests in connection with US initiatives to establish a de-escalation mechanism involving Syria.
A ministry representative said Ankara is closely following statements and reports regarding the initiatives of US authorities to establish a de-escalation mechanism that would include Syria and in this context, no official request has been received by the ministry, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“If such a request is received, the matter will be considered in coordination with the relevant authorities,” the representative noted at a briefing for journalists.
“The Turkish Armed Forces will continue to support the positive momentum achieved across Syria and the development of the Syrian army’s capabilities under the existing military cooperation agreement,” the Defence Ministry added.
