Azerbaijan establishes new City Days for Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdara Presidential order
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order amending the previous decree on establishing City Days in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
According to the new amendment, September 20 will now be officially recognized as the Day of Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand, and Aghdara, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.
The Ministry of Culture, in coordination with the President’s special representatives, has been instructed to take the necessary measures to implement this order. Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with resolving all relevant issues to ensure proper observance of these City Days.
This latest amendment follows a series of similar designations, including Lachin City Day, celebrated annually on August 26, Jabrayil City Day on October 4, Fuzuli City Day on October 17, Zangilan City Day on October 20, Gubadli City Day on October 25, Shusha City Day on November 8, Aghdam City Day on November 20, and Kalbajar City Day on November 25.
These City Days celebrate the liberation of key regions in Azerbaijan, marking the country’s territorial integrity and the restoration of its cultural heritage in those areas.
