Azerbaijani leader expresses condolences to Iranian counterpart

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter of condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to the official website of the President of Azerbaijan that the letter reads:

"Dear Mr. President,

We are deeply saddened by the news of the death and injury of a large number of people as a result of the collapse of a ten-storey building in the city of Abadan.

On my own behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people, I express my deep condolences to you, the families and relatives of the victims, to the entire Iranian people in connection with the tragedy that occurred, and I wish the recovery to those injured."
