Azerbaijani president receives newly appointed Brazilian ambassador PHOTO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received Brazil’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, Bernard Jörg Leopold de Garcia Klingl, on July 17.
The ambassador presented his credentials to the Azerbaijani president before holding talks with him, Caliber.Az reports, citing the presidential press service.
President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations and stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in the political, economic, trade, investment and tourism sectors, as well as increasing contacts at various levels.
The Azerbaijani president wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission and expressed hope that his work would contribute to the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil.
The ambassador said he was honoured to have been appointed to the post and to meet with Aliyev, adding that diplomatic relations between the two countries were at a high level.
He also highlighted successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Brazil in the field of climate action and said he would work to further expand bilateral ties.
The meeting also noted the successful cooperation between the two countries within international organisations, with particular emphasis on their support for multilateral diplomacy.
