Bear attack leaves two men dead in Russia’s Tomsk region

Two men have been killed in a bear attack in the Kolpashevo district of Russia’s Tomsk region, the regional branch of the Russian Investigative Committee reports.

The victims were residents of the village of Severnoye — a 44-year-old local farm worker and his 46-year-old neighbor. The first man went into the forest on September 18 to search for a missing cow but failed to return. The following day, his neighbor went looking for him and also disappeared.

On September 20, both men were found dead in the forest. The bear that attacked them was neutralized. Investigators are working at the scene to establish the circumstances of the incident.
