Cambodian defence ministry denies Thai allegations of post-ceasefire clash
The Cambodian Ministry of National Defence has firmly denied recent claims made by the Royal Thai Army Ground Forces regarding an alleged clash along the border following the commencement of a bilateral ceasefire.
Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry, rejected the allegation, emphasising that the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces have strictly observed all directives and terms set out in the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect at midnight on July 28, 2025, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
She highlighted that Cambodian regional military units — specifically Regional Military Commands 3, 4, and 5 — have been actively engaged in coordination meetings with their Thai counterparts to ensure the full and effective implementation of the truce.
Lieutenant General Maly confirmed that Cambodia has made a clear and firm commitment to respecting and implementing the terms of the Joint Ceasefire Declaration between the Cambodian and Thai armed forces, which was reached on July 28 in Malaysia.
