Czech foreign minister summons Iranian ambassador over airstrike on Israel

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský summoned the Iranian ambassador to Czechia, Seyed Majid Ghafeleh Bashi, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 15 over the latter country's attack on Israel at the weekend, during which more than 300 drones and missiles were fired by the Islamic Republic.

Mr. Lipavský wrote on social media site X that the Czech foreign ministry had clearly communicated to the Iranian government that the attack on Israel had crossed a line and that the regime was purposefully threatening the security of the region with the tacit approval of its ally, Russia, Radio Prague International reports.

Saturday's attack was reportedly in retaliation for an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus that was attributed to Israel. The airstrike did not cause much damage, but it significantly increased tensions in the already troubled region.
