Death toll rises in Gaza as Israeli strikes continue
Gaza’s Health Ministry has said that at least 31 additional Palestinians were killed in continuous Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, raising the total death toll to 45,885 since October 2023.
The ministry also reported that around 109,196 individuals have been injured in the ongoing violence, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
In the past 24 hours, Israeli forces killed 31 people and wounded 57 others in three family massacres. Numerous victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded on roads, as rescue teams are unable to reach them.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 240 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
