Media: Israeli military on high alert amid fears of Iranian actions
The Israeli military has been placed on high alert by Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Herzi Halevi due to concerns that Iran may take drastic measures against Israel.
Security officials have cautioned that shifts in the regional strategic landscape could provoke Iran into taking action against Israel, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
In addition to the fall of the rial and domestic protests, the Revolutionary Guards are transferring money to Hezbollah through civilian flights, prompting the Chief of Staff to order increased alertness. Although Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon are currently under a 60-day ceasefire, both sides have reported numerous violations of the US-brokered truce.
The sources in the report also pointed out concerns about Iran's position as Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House later this month.
Israeli officials believe that Trump's policy will represent a major shift capable of altering the strategic balance in the Middle East, whether through military actions or economic sanctions.
Iran's involvement in conflicts in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, along with the economic and political repercussions within Iran itself, raise concerns that Iran's response to pressure could be focused specifically on Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces are preparing for any scenario, fully aware that even if the likelihood is low, extreme measures by Iran require the utmost vigilance.
