UN observer: Palestine ready to cooperate with all parties to end war in Gaza
Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations, has expressed Palestine's readiness to work with all parties to secure an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Mansour’s statement signalled an openness to dialogue, even with the incoming administration of US President-elect Donald Trump, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"We will work with everyone who is willing to cooperate with us to put an end to this war, achieve an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and save lives. We are ready to listen to any reasonable point of view that will bring us closer to this goal," Mansour stated.
President-elect Trump, who is set to take office on January 20, has taken a firm stance on hostage-taking incidents in the Middle East.
In a recent statement, he declared that, "all hell is going to break out" if Hamas does not release its hostages by January 20.
To recap, on October 7, 2023, Hamas militants launched an attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping over 250, including Israeli-American dual nationals, according to Israeli sources.
More than 100 hostages have since been freed through negotiations or Israeli military operations. It is believed that roughly half of the remaining hostages are still alive.
