Media: Pete Hegseth hiding impact of Iranian strike on US base
US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth is allegedly attempting to conceal the destruction of the US Navy’s main supply base in the Middle East by Iran, amid growing concerns over conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, MS NOW reports.
The report said Iran struck a US logistics centre in Bahrain, destroying a significant portion of the military base responsible for supplying US naval forces.
The resulting shortages aboard the aircraft carrier are reportedly linked to Hegseth’s alleged efforts to conceal disruptions in supplies to US warships.
Recent reports have raised concerns over shortages of basic supplies, water contamination, plumbing problems and deteriorating mental health among the USS Abraham Lincoln’s crew.
Hegseth has rejected reports that conditions aboard the carrier have been seriously deteriorating, calling them completely misrepresented.
