Qatar FM calls for end to “blackmail” over Strait of Hormuz
Qatar’s Foreign Minister and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has called for shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz to return to pre-war levels, urging all sides to refrain from using the waterway to “blackmail” one another.
Speaking to reporters following high-level talks in El Alamein, Egypt, he said the US-Israeli war against Iran had produced serious consequences extending beyond the Gulf region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Al Jazeera.
“The consequences of this war were grave, not only on the Gulf region but elsewhere in the world,” Sheikh Mohammed noted.
He stressed the need to restore conditions that existed before the conflict.
“We need the situation to go back to what it used to be before,” he added. “We condemn any threats in this regard in any obstacles.”
