Lithuania’s FM calls for Ukraine’s full integration into Euro-Atlantic structures
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys has accused Russia of showing “zero interest in peace” after another overnight wave of missile and drone strikes on Ukraine.
Budrys said the attacks killed civilians and damaged residential buildings, arguing that Russia was continuing to choose escalation and attacks on civilians over efforts to end the war.
He called for stronger air defences for Ukraine, along with increased military, energy and financial support. Budrys also urged greater pressure on Russia, including sanctions targeting the country’s war economy.
“Russia must not be allowed to continue attacking with impunity,” he said on X.
Budrys also reiterated Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, calling for Ukraine to become a full member of the European Union by 2030.
He said Ukraine’s integration into Europe should remain a strategic priority and argued that supporting Kyiv was essential to protecting Europe’s own security and future.
