IAEA to hold 70th general conference in Vienna
The 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be held in Vienna from September 14 to 18, with international cooperation on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and advances in nuclear science and technology among the key issues on the agenda.
According to a statement published on the IAEA’s website, representatives of member states will convene for the agency’s annual session to discuss current issues related to nuclear energy and international cooperation.
Iran will be represented at the conference by Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran. Eslami is also expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the conference.
The annual General Conference brings together representatives of IAEA member states to consider matters related to the agency’s work and cooperation in the peaceful application of nuclear technology.
