Defeat or peace on Azerbaijan's terms Armenia has no alternative
Armenia has received what it has been asking for a long time. Azerbaijan's "belligerent" neighbouring country, which does not want to establish peace and intends to bite harder surreptitiously, was worth punishing. The Azerbaijani army reacted with lightning speed, by teaching Armenia a lesson within one night and morning. The Armenian Nazism near the Azerbaijani borders has been eliminated. While whimpering, Yerevan licks its wounds and learns a new lesson. If anyone does not want peace, it is demonstratively forced to peace.
For a long time, Azerbaijan's insidious neighbour had been planning systematic provocations. Besides the remaining Armenian Armed Forces and gangs that have settled in the Karabakh region since the defeat in the 44-day second Karabakh war, new forces have been regularly accumulated and military field infrastructure has been created in Karabakh since 2020, which is in the zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers. Military equipment and militants were secretly transported from Armenia through the Lachin corridor for two years as a result of the Russian peacekeepers' connivance. Azerbaijan, trying to prevent escalation of the situation, has repeatedly informed the international community that Armenia continues deploying military forces in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region, preparing for further provocations. Alas, Azerbaijan's statements in influential international organisations were considered without due attention. Numerous negotiations about a peaceful dialogue were held, however, a country that accumulates weapons on the border is unlikely to draw conclusions from the negotiations and implement peace agreements.
However, Azerbaijan continued to hope and comply with its obligations. Azerbaijan continued talking about peace, and the need to delimit and demarcate borders to avoid territorial disputes. Our country planned to restore transportation routes and, in particular, insisted on the importance of preparing and signing a peace treaty in which Armenia and Azerbaijan once and for all recognise each other's territorial integrity, and agree on peace initiatives in the region. As it turned out, everything was in vain. While negotiating and verbally declaring peace in Brussels and Moscow, Armenia accumulated equipment and militants and built barracks, bunkers and trenches both in Karabakh and in the border zone near Azerbaijan's Dashkasan and Kalbajar districts.
Azerbaijan's "Revenge" special operation, carried out in response to the murder of an Azerbaijani soldier, was a well-aimed preemptive strike against the growing activity of Armenian militants, who, like a plague, spread over the mountain heights by strengthening their positions. Thus, Azerbaijan made it clear to Yerevan that it would not allow the Armenian gangs to control the situation in Karabakh and that the Azerbaijani army was ready to continue the offensive if necessary. After expelling the militants and settling on the heights from Lachin to Kalbajar, the Azerbaijani military completely took control of all militant positions, consolidating their strategic superiority in the region. Azerbaijan allowed Armenia to think and make a choice either to intensify the confrontation on the border and block the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite statement dated November 10, 2020, or start to act, turning the peace commitments into reality.
Yerevan, verbally assuring its adherence to the "peace formula" and discussing the preparation of a peace treaty following the recent talks in Brussels, began to prove the opposite. Azerbaijani border guards retaliated against Armenia's fire every morning for several weeks. There was shelling at night, and several times a day. Of course, this couldn't continue forever. Armenia was opposed to regional peace.
The Armenian Armed Forces made large-scale provocations against the Azerbaijani army at 00:36 (GMT+4) on September 13. Some positions, shelters and bases of the Azerbaijani army in Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin districts were fired upon by the Armenian Armed Forces from various weapons, including mortars. Moreover, sabotage groups of the Armenian armed forces planted the mines in the areas between the Azerbaijani positions and the main roads in different directions at night by taking advantage of the mountainous terrain and valley gaps.
Azerbaijan responded powerfully and consistently. The Azerbaijani army tamed the Armenian revanchism on its borders on September 12 night and September 13 morning, ensuring the security on the borders.
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry noted in its overnight statement that the provocations of the Armenian Armed Forces in the direction of the Lachin, Gadabay, Dashkasan and Kalbajar districts of the state border over the past month, as well as the shelling of the positions of the Azerbaijani army in these districts by using various weapons, was intensive and systematic. At the same time, Armenia was accumulating weapons, heavy artillery and soldiers along the Azerbaijani borders. All these facts undeniably testified that Armenia was preparing for a large-scale military provocation.
According to the ministry, "by such actions, Armenia also seeks to slow down the implementation of large-scale civilian infrastructure projects being implemented by Azerbaijan in the border areas liberated from occupation and to maintain an atmosphere of tension near the Azerbaijani borders".
As a result of the special operation, the most important tasks were solved. Azerbaijan ensured control over strategic heights in the region. A number of strategic facilities in Armenia were taken under control by Azerbaijani servicemen. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces killed up to 200 Armenian soldiers and destroyed equipment worth $500,000,000, including two S-300 air defence systems. The entire Armenian military infrastructure, which could be used for provocations on the border sections in Lachin and Kalbajar districts, was smashed through the Azerbaijani army's high-precision weapons. The drones revealed all targets, which were then destroyed. As a result, no Armenian civilian was wounded.
According to the Azerbaijani side, Azerbaijan does not intend to occupy the territory of another country. However, the most decisive measures will be taken by Azerbaijan to ensure the security of its borders. What should the Armenian side get through its thick skull?
Unfortunately, there are also dead among the Azerbaijani servicemen. Their valour and feat will forever remain in the Azerbaijani people's memory.
Of course, Azerbaijan's special operation caused Yerevan's fear and hysteria. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan tried to phone everyone during the night and morning. While shamelessly accusing Azerbaijan of treachery, the Armenian prime minister plaintively begged US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and French President Emmanuel Macron to help Armenia. Pashinyan even managed to phone to European Council President Charles Michel. However, no one and nothing can prevent the Azerbaijani army from successfully completing what it has undertaken, as well as from solving all strategic tasks.
As was expected, all Pashinyan's attempts were futile. The world politicians just politely expressed sympathy to Yerevan. What else can be said to the Armenian provocateurs, who have been testing the patience of the neighbouring country for many years, aggravating the situation on its territory and then, having received a slap in the face, complaining to everyone they can?
Armenia is still doing its best for international organisations to react. Pashinyan is still zealous in his annoying phone diplomacy. In particular, he insisted on a special meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), calling for intervention, "putting Azerbaijan in its place". He is also trying to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council with France's assistance. Pashinyan hopes that this will somehow change the situation and that some international organisations and some politicians will reproach Azerbaijan. However, these are only vain hopes of the Armenian provocateurs. Azerbaijan acts within its state borders, which are generally recognised by the international community, and which no one is going to dispute. So, Armenia's actions are futile. Azerbaijan has understood its game, the game of a provocateur, and it does not intend to stop. Every Armenian terrorist, machine gun, grenade launcher, and tank on Azerbaijani soil will be destroyed mercilessly, Baku will not allow further provocations along its border.
From now on, everyone in Armenia should seriously once again listen to the Azerbaijani president’s instructive message to the Armenian side "Use your chance while it is available. There may not be such a chance tomorrow".
Tomorrow has possibly already arrived in Yerevan.
