Houthis claim superior military arsenal
Houthi leader Abdel Malek al-Husi declared that the Ansar Allah movement, which governs northern Yemen, possesses a military arsenal that exceeds the capabilities of several countries.
"We have modern military capabilities that are unmatched by other nations," al-Husi stated in an interview with Yemeni TV channel, Caliber.Az reports.
He emphasized that the Houthi missile forces are a critical component of their powerful and efficient military structure.
In recent developments, the Houthis reportedly shot down their third US drone within a week. Last October, the group announced plans to support Palestinian factions against the Israeli military in Gaza through rocket and air attacks. They also issued warnings regarding potential strikes on ships associated with Israel, urging other nations to withdraw their crews and avoid these vessels at sea.
While asserting their right to defend themselves, the Houthis maintained that they do not disrupt freedom of navigation in the region or target vessels from other countries. Consequently, some shipping companies have begun to suspend operations through the Red Sea due to these threats.
Additionally, the Yemeni Houthis previously claimed responsibility for a strike on Tel Aviv.
