Gender Gap: Women largely absent among ChatGPT users
According to analytics firm Appfigures, spending on AI-powered smartphone applications surged to $1.42 billion in 2024, marking an impressive 274% increase from 2023.
The findings, reported by TechCrunch, reveal some intriguing trends in the demographic makeup of these users, Caliber.Az reports.
The research highlights a stark gender divide among those using such technologies. While men remain the dominant demographic, with an overwhelming 84.5% of ChatGPT users identifying as male, younger generations show notable enthusiasm for AI.
Over half of ChatGPT’s mobile users are under 25, pointing to the youth's eagerness to embrace emerging technologies.
The data suggests that, despite the rapid growth of AI applications, gender disparities still persist, particularly in the user base of popular platforms like ChatGPT.
