Trump's first 9 days: A flurry of executive orders sets record, expands presidential reach

President Donald Trump has signed a record-breaking 38 executive orders in his first nine days in office, setting a new precedent for American leadership. 

Thus, no US leader has ever issued this many orders within such a short period of time, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.

Trump’s flurry of decrees marks a clear effort to reshape the workings of the US administration, with the aim of expanding presidential powers. The portal describes the series of actions as "a campaign in the style of the Shock and Awe doctrine."

Notably, only two former presidents—Joe Biden and Harry Truman—have signed more than 40 executive orders during their first 100 days in office.

Before taking office, a representative of Trump’s team said that the incoming administration had prepared a significant number of decrees for the president to sign on his first day.

Upon his inauguration on January 20, Trump wasted no time, immediately cancelling 78 executive orders and memoranda issued by his predecessor, President Biden.
