PM Sharif reaffirms Pakistan’s resolve, hails military bravery during visit to Sialkot frontline VIDEO
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid a visit to Pasrur Cantonment in Sialkot, where he met with officers and soldiers engaged in Operation Binyan-e-Marsous.
The visit served as a show of solidarity with the armed forces and a reaffirmation of Pakistan's commitment to national defence in the face of recent regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports citing Pakistani media.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, the Prime Minister was received at the base by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, and Corps Commander Sialkot.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz was briefed on the operational readiness and tactical positioning of the troops. He lauded the valor and sacrifices of the Pakistani military, declaring the personnel as "the nation’s crown jewels." He praised the army’s swift and effective response during the recent episode of cross-border hostility, stating, “History will remember how Pakistan thwarted the aggression in a matter of hours.”
Addressing the officers and troops, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the targeting of innocent civilians by Indian forces, calling the actions “an open act of aggression.” He criticized the mischaracterization of non-combatants as terrorists, denouncing it as “a shameful violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and moral conduct.”
Sharif reiterated that despite Pakistan's openness to impartial investigation and peaceful resolution, India had chosen “a path of hostility founded on lies and arrogance.” He assured the troops that the armed forces' resolute and disciplined response had not only safeguarded national sovereignty but had also set a precedent of strength and unity.
The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the martyrs, asserting that their sacrifices would remain a lasting symbol of pride and resilience for the nation.
