Saudi Crown Prince voices support for US efforts to resolve Ukraine conflict
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, expressing explicit support for efforts led by US President Donald Trump.
Speaking at a high-level summit in Riyadh between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, the Crown Prince emphasized Saudi Arabia’s willingness to remain engaged in promoting a peaceful resolution to the crisis, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
“We reaffirm the Kingdom's readiness to continue efforts to find a political solution to resolve the Ukrainian crisis,” Crown Prince Mohammed stated. “We also welcome the efforts of US President Donald Trump, who is seeking to put an end to this crisis.”
The Crown Prince underscored the significance of ongoing diplomatic coordination between Washington and the Gulf Arab states, framing the summit as a demonstration of shared resolve in addressing global challenges.
“Today's summit demonstrates our readiness to continue co-operation and co-ordination on regional and international issues to ensure security and stability,” he added.
Saudi Arabia has positioned itself in recent years as a diplomatic actor in major international conflicts, including hosting multilateral talks on Ukraine in 2023. The Kingdom has also provided humanitarian aid to Kyiv while maintaining strong ties with Moscow, navigating a complex balancing act amid heightened global geopolitical tensions.
