Muslim couriers in Russia decline pork deliveries
A new trend is emerging among food delivery couriers in Moscow, Russia where some drivers are reportedly declining to deliver meals that contain ingredients forbidden under Islamic laws.
A screenshot was allegedly provided by a customer using a food delivery app, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The message from the service informed the user that their assigned courier had refused to deliver a "forbidden dish"—a term used in Islam to denote items that are religiously prohibited—and that another courier was searched for. The order in question reportedly included pork, which is explicitly forbidden in Islam. For practicing Muslim couriers, this ingredient presents a conflict with their faith, prompting some to decline such deliveries on religious grounds.
