Armenian authorities arrest Meghri mayor in corruption case

Meghri community head Khachatur Andreasyan has been arrested, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee announced.

Andreasyan is accused of using subsoil or natural resources without authorisation, as well as giving and receiving bribes, according to Armenian media.

Six other people are also implicated in the case. They have either been remanded in custody or placed under house arrest.
