Georgian PM urges EU to focus on Europe’s challenges

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has criticized European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos over her call for EU candidate countries to distance themselves from the MAGA political movement associated with US President Donald Trump.

Kobakhidze described Kos’ statement as “strange,” saying Europe is already facing a wide range of challenges, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

“Europe already has a huge number of problems. At a time like this, when a European commissioner is looking for a reason for conflict with the United States, this is, to put it mildly, strange,” Kobakhidze said.

He argued that European politicians and officials should focus on addressing the challenges facing the continent rather than making statements that could fuel tensions with Washington.
