Russia’s deportations of illegal migrants rise 2.6-fold, Putin says

The number of illegal migrants forcibly deported from Russia has increased 2.6-fold since reforms to migration regulations were introduced, President Vladimir Putin said.

Putin made the remarks during a meeting with Andrei Kikot, Russia’s first deputy interior minister and head of the ministry’s service for citizenship and registration of foreign nationals, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

“There are 2.6 times more cases of deportation,” Putin said, referring to administrative expulsions. He described the increase as 85 per cent.
