Russia unveils its fastest anti-drone interceptor

Russia has unveiled the Krechet, a fixed-wing anti-drone interceptor capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h, which its developers describe as the fastest aircraft-type anti-drone developed in the country.

Alexey Chadayev, CEO of the Ushkuynik Research and Production Centre, announced the development on September 10, Caliber.Az reports.

“For the first time, Russia’s fastest fixed-wing anti-drone, the Krechet, has been presented. It is equipped with two electric motors and can reach speeds of up to 450 kilometres per hour,” Chadayev said.

According to Chadayev, the interceptor is launched from a catapult and features forward-swept wings, improving its maneuverability, particularly at low speeds. He noted that the system is designed to pursue and accurately strike maneuvering unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Krechet is being presented for the first time at the International Technology Congress, held from September 8–10 at Patriot Park.
