Trump reaffirms strong US-Israel ties amid Gulf outreach
US President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns that his recent diplomatic outreach to Gulf nations signaled a shift away from traditional American support for Israel.
Speaking to reporters, Trump underscored that fostering strong ties with Gulf states is not only in the interest of the US but also serves Israel’s strategic goals, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
“This is good for Israel,” Trump tells reporters aboard Air Force One. “Having a relationship like I have with these countries… I think it’s very good for Israel,” he says.
The president’s comments come amid speculation over the broader implications of his Middle East policy, particularly following meetings with leaders from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations.
Trump also highlighted his administration’s role in the release of hostages, stating that their survival would not have been possible without US intervention. He suggested that his administration deserves “perhaps the highest praise” for its efforts in securing their freedom.
