Iranian adviser claims Trump approved release of $24 billion in frozen assets
13 June 2026 13:29
Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a current military adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, but is unwilling to make the decision public.
Rezaei did not provide additional details or evidence to support the assertion, Iran International reports.
U.S. President Donald Trump has previously rejected similar Iranian reports about a potential financial arrangement, describing them as “fake news.”
