Iran’s Araghchi arrives in Doha to mourn former Qatari emir UPDATED/ PHOTO
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Doha to offer condolences following the death of Qatar’s former emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
Araghchi is expected to pay tribute to the late monarch and meet Qatari officials during the visit.
Qatar has declared a period of national mourning after the former emir’s death. The current ruler, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is receiving condolences in Doha from visiting heads of state, government leaders and senior officials.

An Iranian delegation has departed Tehran for Doha, according to flight tracking data and Iranian media reports.
Data from Flightradar24 indicated the flight’s departure, while media outlets reported that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was among those travelling.
According to the reports, Araghchi is expected to meet Qatari officials and convey condolences following the death of the country’s former emir.
