Iraq’s new president engages UK envoy to expand bilateral co-operation
The President of Iraq, Nizar Amidi, met with the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, on Saturday (April 18) to discuss enhancing co-operation between the two countries.
The meeting, held at Baghdad Palace on April 18, saw the British envoy extend congratulations to Amidi on assuming office, expressing hopes for his success and for continued stability and progress in Iraq, President’s official Telegram channel reports.
Talks focused on strengthening relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom, with both sides exploring opportunities to expand co-operation across various sectors in line with shared interests.
Amidi reaffirmed Baghdad’s commitment to deepening ties with partner nations, highlighting the importance of broadening collaboration to support development efforts and reinforce stability in the country.
