Russian presidential press secretary Dmitriy Peskov has said that the idea of creating a “trilateral gas union” among Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will still be taking shape.
He noted that the fact that this project is being discussed was previously reported by a representative of the Kazakh president, Kommersant reports.
Peskov added that energy supply routes in this region are "extremely relevant".
The press secretary said that such a gas union "will meet the interests of all three countries".
“Of course, this idea and initiative will take shape. This is a huge, vast territory in a very important region,” he said during a press call.
