COP29 president, UN secretary-general focus on climate priorities
COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev has met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres to discuss key climate priorities to be addressed by world leaders during the COP29 conference.
The meeting, which was reported on the official COP29 social media page, focused on urgent climate action goals and strategies that aim to accelerate global efforts to combat climate change, Caliber.Az reports.
Babayev and Guterres explored ways to drive meaningful progress on climate policies and initiatives throughout the ongoing conference.
“On the sidelines of the first day of COP29 Azerbaijan, COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev and
UN Secretary-General António Guterres held a high-level meeting to address the urgent climate priorities that leaders must adopt to accelerate global climate action. Their discussions focused on scaling up climate finance, enhancing adaptation efforts, and fostering international cooperation for a more sustainable future,” the post reads.
