Media: Armenian authorities launch anti-Russian campaign
Lusine Shahverdyan, author of the Armenian Hraparak newspaper, has written that representatives of the current regime led by Nikol Pashinyan launched a propaganda campaign against Russia with a new scope.
"Pashinyan launched a new stage of anti-Russian campaign during a meeting with his fellow party members over the weekend. Without naming names, he tried to shift all responsibility and blame for a possible war to a third country. It is clear that Pashinyan was referring to Russia. He said that there are forces outside Armenia and Azerbaijan that prevent the establishment of peace," Caliber.Az reports, citing the publication.
"Next, National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan described who is preventing peace in the region, continuing with Pashinyan. He said, 'As for the peace treaty, those parties who want to have leverage over Azerbaijan, to have leverage over Armenia, of course, would like to at least be a 'good mediator' to ensure their influence over both countries.'
And Gevorg Papoyan, deputy chairman of the ruling party's administration, said at a briefing with journalists that it is one of Russia's desires to control something in Syunik (Zangezur - ed.). There is no sense for Russians to come and control something in Syunik, this is a desire, a dream.
Perhaps, also as part of the anti-Russian campaign, the Yerevan Mayor's Office allowed an anti-Putin rally of Alexei Navalny's supporter to be held in Yerevan on January 21," the report says.
