Media: Türkiye arrests financier for Mossad
Liridon Rexhepi, a citizen of the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo, charged of financing agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has been arrested in Türkiye.
Turkish counterintelligence had been monitoring Rexhepi since August 25, when he arrived in Istanbul. He was detained on August 30 during a joint operation conducted with the Counter-Terrorism Department, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
The investigation revealed that Rexhepi had transferred funds to Mossad agents who were gathering intelligence, including on Syria, and conducting "psychological operations against Palestinian politicians." He used the Western Union payment system for these transfers. During interrogations, Rexhepi confessed to making the financial transfers to the Israeli agents.
