Ukraine, US agree on tentative date for General Kellogg's visit to Kyiv
Ukraine and the United States have agreed on a tentative date for General Keith Kellogg’s visit to Kyiv.
Kellogg, who is set to become the US Special Envoy for Russia and Ukraine, will be visiting Ukraine soon, according to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, Caliber.Az reports citing Ukrainian media.
During a briefing on December 20, Tykhyi confirmed that preparations for Kellogg's visit are underway, though he refrained from disclosing the exact date for security reasons. "A tentative date for this visit has been set. I won’t disclose it for security reasons, but I can confirm that we are expecting General Kellogg in Ukraine," Tykhyi stated.
Tykhyi also emphasized that the Ukrainian government aims to provide Kellogg with "critical information" to assist in shaping the new US administration's vision for achieving a "just peace" in the ongoing conflict.
In November, US President-elect Donald Trump announced his decision to appoint retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg as Special Envoy for Russia and Ukraine. Kellogg has previously expressed his intention to visit Kyiv and other European capitals, excluding Russia, to gather perspectives from all parties involved in the ongoing conflict.
The visit is seen as part of Kellogg’s efforts to engage with key stakeholders and gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation as the United States prepares its diplomatic approach under the new administration.
